I purchased a 50 trim turbo and it used to be internally gated but it was turned into an external setup. My question is how can i block off the hole that is now left on the hotside of the turbo where the old wastegate actuator rod was thanks

Most people ususally just weld the hole shut. Are you talking about where the flapper rod was that connected to the actuator rod or the flapper itself?

i am talking about where the actuator rod went in to the turbo itself to control the flapper and what kind of welder did you all use

find a bolt that fits in there but doesnt obstruct the flow of the wg passage (short enough) for the external off the o2 (which im assuming you are doing) and then weld it shut. My buddy did it for me, i think it was a mig welder... the regular wire feed kind.

thanks for all the answers i will take it to work tommorow and have the hole welded
