2G Block surface

During the process of removing the dowel pin , I Slightly nick the surface of the block . Will I be ok using a composite gasket?

I'm not an expert but it doesn't look like it's bad enough to cause any issues. It doesn't go to the edge of the block. If you feel comfortable you could probably file down any edges that could be sticking up if it has any.

From a logical standpoint that’s too small to worry about. From a piece of mind standpoint, if you already have the block out, it’s pretty cheap to resurface at a machine shop

It's fine, not even close to anything that holds pressure, and it's too small to be concerned. If you're completely rebuilding the engine, a deck surfacing to clean up is usually in the cards anyway.

Yes, you will be 100% fine. Make sure you scrape that deck with a razor blade. Do not use a bristle disc or anything like that.
I like to shove rags down in cylinder, and pack the piston crevice with grease to keep shit from going in there.
