Hey, well i am deep into the motor and i have a quick question... Can i just cut the belt of the balancing shaft ? i really don't want to get myself into more trouble than i am already in  would it be okay if i just cut off the belt of do i have to do more than that?

YES you must do more. Sorry mate its not that simple. You may leave one shaft in, but the other must come out. Please refure to the VFAQ on the procedure. http://www.vfaq.com/mods/balance-shafts.html PS you may hear that just cutting the belt will work, but do a search about the same thing, you will see what can happen.

The only thing I can say about it. Is that, when I mechanic was doing my timing belt thing, the car acted weird, and we thought that the balance shaft was seized or something, it actually ended up the lifters so loud. But we put everything back on the way it is just without the balance shaft belt, and now I broke my 3rd oil return line, in the past 2 months. I would say not worth it, and also I have heard that it will shorten the life of the engine, having too much of a vibration. And keeping in mind that your engine is a 7 bolt, not a good idea. I will have to put the balanceshaft belt back on, and I'm also thinking of buying the SS oil return line. Just my advice for you.

Best thread on the cutting the balance shaft belt. Noice the wisemen memebr who posted in here. This is why I would rather spend a day or 2 more and do the thing right. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=185842&highlight=cut+balance+shaft+belt

I have seen aclose friend remove both shafts while the engine was in the car. He ended up having to dig a few 17mm wrenches out of the wall after they flew thru the drywall and patch the made holes aftwards since the job was sucha bear. But due to his commitment and pride to his work he is one of the few I will let work on my car besides myself.
