bigger rims and transmission problems

Hey Guys i know that this might sound like a dumb question, but i have put 18inch rims on my 97GSX. the stock was 17inch. my question is this. Will that effect a automatic transmission? I have recently lost overdrive and need to replace the end clutch. would the increased wheel size have anything to do with that?

However, I would try and not launch your car with the 18s on it. When did some research when I upgraded from my stock rims and it seemed that 18s are a little bit to heavy. This would mean that launching will have a greater chance of damaging your axles, driveshaft, etc.

I am not saying launching is safe anyway, however, the weight of the 18s vs. 17s, ,16s, etc are the issue. Other than that, it should not harm your transmission by driving with 18s.

I agree here as i have 18's and "LAUNCHING" is no longer in my vocabulary. Roll on's on the otherhand, much safer with 18's.
