Hey guys,
If anyone has seen any of my other threads, I have been battling WWD traction forever. I previously had 235/45/17 Toyo Proxe F4 tires and they would spin all through 1st and 2nd at the hint of ANY boost. I did a lot of research before buying these tires (BFG's) and all I can say is that they rock :rocks: I now can go WOT through 2nd gear and she only spins slightly now :thumb:. I got them as 235/40/17 and they were only sale for 144 a tire. If any FWD needs a good tire I definitely recommend these bad boys!

Defently good to know, as I will probably need a new set of tires next summer. Was wondering if anyone can compare the KDW's to the cheeper Kumho MX's or Hankook Z212's? Don't mind spending the extra money if there is a noticeable difference in traction but if there isn't why throw away money that could be used on going faster :D

My cousin just picked up the KDW2's for his Evo, he was having serious traction problems before. The car isn't all that fast, the tires that were on it were just crappy for traction, I think they were Pirelly P-zero Corsa's. He would launch at the track and spin all through first and part way through second, with the ass end hanging out the whole time. Now the car just hooks up and goes, no traction problems at all.

I just got a set of BFgoodrich g-force sports. Huge improvment in handling and traction. 215/55zr16

BFGoodrich Eagle F1 GS-D3 seem to stick better than the KDW-2s, wet or dry for cornering.. but the shoulderblocks wear out damn quick with stock camber. About the same price, though not as spiffy a tread pattern as the KDW-2s.

KDW2, Kumho MX, S-03, P-Nero M+S are all very good all around tires

i have kumho mx on the car now, 225/50/r16 and they aren't that great. Spin through 1-2, my perelli galleo are better but cost a few coins more!

That's because you are being punished for having a Turbo N/T

The MX's are really similar to the KDW2 and have a softer sidewall, which means they are even better for straight line acceleration. The new AMS EVO8 Road Race car runs MX's. Don't talk to me about them not being that great. Obviously YOU are doing something wrong.

I guess i'm going to need to invest in some good tires also. I have brand new ones on, But they're not some expensive name brand tire. Before I took my car apart, I was spinning when full boost hit, In 3rd gear... I'm going to hate to see how it is with my new hx35-40 that I just installed today... I will find out in about a day I guess =(

On what do you base your claim that the MX has a softer sidewall than the KDW2?

Common knowledge when it comes to tires.

Are you on NABR??? Check out their tech archives if you aren't. Plenty of articles there talking about the difference with the KDW2 and MX's.

I just put a brand new pair of Kumho MX's up front...they are alright...I mean they hook up nicely from a roll in third, I haven't got on them at WOT in first or second yet...I'll let you know after tomm tho...

If I weren't selling off my EVO8 wheels, I would mos def be putting on MX's. Perofrmance for price is also extremely good.

Although your comments are greatly appreciated, I think we are comparing apples to oranges here. Having tires on a FWD is definitely different from AWD. Now, if you have had both of these tires on a high powered FWD, fire away :thumb:
