Best way to get horsepower?

ALright so i have a $2000 budget and a 98 rs. I am looking to get 225-250HP as a daily driver. redid the entire body with widebody kit and everything so i dont wanna sell it and buy a gst. What are my best options to get my intended goals?

i have been contemplating really, i was looking at turbos v an engine rebuild and as of now i wanna go with whats more cost efficent, the problem is that idk if that is turbo route or the engine rebuild route

you cant get 250 hp on all motor set up. unless your rich.

yaa i wish i was rich, but anyway its manual . . . motor wise i saw a 2.2 stroker kit, but i dont think it would compare numbers wise when getting one of the turbo kits i have seen

IMO with your budget and numbers you want, do a compression test, complete all necessary maintenance, research parts and piece together a turbo kit

2 grand wont get you that much of a gain unless your spraying hombre

for 250hp he'd need about a 150 shot which i wouldn't recommend unless he is reinforcing the block which all in all would be more than 2g

Since all motor is out of the question I would suggest a turbo kit over nitrous. My friend had nitrous on his car and its fun and all but having to refill the bottle becomes more of a hassle than anything, especially if you have a heavy foot.

hey looks like you started to do some of your research. the gst downpipe won't work for you, your downpipe needed will depend on the manifold/turbo combo you go with. BTW that fcd price you've got is crazy, you should spend between 25 and 50 on an fcd or missing link (mechanical alternative to an fcd)

neither of those are necessary for a basic turbo setup and they're not going to much on an n/a without some serious mods. Please check the forum you're in before posting

I've gotten everything but im just at a point where im stuck because the intercooler i got wont work the guy who sold it to me said it would fit but its custom for a 4g63...so now i need to find a good intercooler for a 420a but dont kno where to look

the core will still work just piece together some piping with the universal pipe kits.

the core is the problem...it has the outlet pipe in the back so it has to go through the cars core support, and if you cut the support and put it through it seems dangerously close to the pulleys/belts

Get a new intercooler and move on. I'm sure somebody will buy the one you have now.
