I plan on picking up a fairly good condition 2g talon tsi in a few weeks from a friend. The mods done to it are as follows.

16g turbo
550cc injectors
greddy bov
turbo timer
sheperd racing stage 1 tranny.

My friend hasnt run it at the track yet but says its capable of mid 13's in the 1/4 mile. My question is...what can i do to the car to make it reliable? Its untuned...i was going to pickup DSMlink and take it down to Buscher Racing and have them tune it. I want a fun yet reliable car. Im not an abusive driver. Im just new to DSM's , i just need some advice on what to upgrade on the car specificaly the engine to make it reliable.

Thanks in advanced.
-Tim

Change all the fluids, and replace anything that needs replacing like spark plugs, oil filter, ect... Then I would say throw a turbo back exhaust on it, go with a 2.5" DP that expands to 3" then a 3" hi flow cat or 3" straight pipe, then a 3" cat-back. Give you some more HP. What year is the Talon? It will be pretty reliable if you dont beat on it since its a 2G cause it is younger then us 1G guys, I just do the regular maintnence on my 92 TSi and drive 600 miles a week, and Ive only spent 500$ on maintaining it this year and mine has 188k miles. Getting the DSMLink and having Bushcur tune it is a good idea, also check out your steering components like tie rod ends, ect...

You need a fuel pump and just make sure the timing belt, water pump, plugs and wires, oil, coolant etc is all fresh.

A tune will help. DSMlink is a great choice. Remember you'll need a 95 eprom to run it. Just keep up on maitenance and hope the DSM Gods like you.
