ever heard of jis auto?

barnettes engines?

please in diar need of advice

You can probably find one that's sitting untouched in a local salvage yard. There's about a half dozen in the one near my place. Check the ones local to you. Pull the head if you'd like.

EDIT: Just checked the photos I took from last time I was there. There were 4. The most any of them had removed were the radiator hoses.

i really feel this is my best bet as i just dont trust what people say around here

well ordered a re-manufactured short block j
is auto for 680 total

not bad just hope it holds

I know this is probably a long forgotten thread but I just ordered a rebuilt block from JIS engines and I wanted to know if it held up for you. I made the mistake of not reading reviews until after I purchased the engine and some of them weren't too promissing so I'm hoping your first hand experiance will give me a little piece of mind.
