Best combination for my style?

OK I have a relatively stock 98 gsx, with just an intake & filter. First things first, this car is going to be my daily driver, it just doesn't have enough power right now. I just cleared off some room on my credit card, so now I can finally do some mods

From what I've found, all new turbos are about $1,000, besides the evo 16g for $600. For my car, I just want to get a new turbo, intercooler & pipes, and exhaust.

I don't know which turbo to go with though... can someone make some recomendations? This should make it easy for you, I want the same low-spool characteristics from the stock turbo, but I just need it to flow more. I don't want a turbo that takes forever to spool up, i'm not looking for that kind of power. I prefer to short shift all my vehicles for durability reasons.

So, anyone have any recomendations on turbo setup for me? I don't have much cash to play with right now, so price matters. Also, I don't want to have to do a bunch of other mods to get the turbo to fit... anything that pretty much bolts on?

Also, I want at least 300hp... do I need any other supporting mods for that?

Well I will suggest to look and follow this as a reference since you need the fuel support to get there.

After you complete it and you are ready to install a turbo. I will recomend you a 50 trim an EvoIII 16G might work but it takes a little hard work to get 300WHP in a AWD car.

where is the powerband at on the evo 16g turbo vs the 50 trim, etc?

from experience on a friends car he put a 255lph pump full exhuast fmic 550 or 600cc injectors cant remember intake tubular exhaust manifold o2housin fuel pressure regulator 16g gauge to tune the regulator and a safc because the computer cant keep up with the new power so you have to tune the air fuel

Don't be like everybody else and buy the turbo first, then we'll have to listen to you bi*** about how your hitting fuel cut and your car runs like shit.

Buy a datalogger, a fuel pump, injectors, and some way to control the injectors(Safc, Dsmlink, etc.). Then buy the turbo, exhaust, intake, and intercooler.

If you ask me i would say go whit a 50trim cense you got awd if you have enough funds for it and the tuning. but evo3 16g does it for me putting down 320hp on a 2nd gen gst

Get all the supporting mods, full exhaust feul pump,injectors, afc etc

For a T28 or a 16G you can use you stock sidemount and it will be perfectly fine, but its always better to use a larger intercooler anyways.

Port your manifold and O2 housing it will help with spool also, there is a guide and I suggest you read it.

If you really don't want to spend money on the fuel system I'd consider a Big T28 if I were you. I used that turbo as a sort of middle ground between stock and a bigger turbo. It ran fine while I was still on the stock fuel system, and for what it was I was very pleased with it.
