I am looking for help for my friends 1g eclispe. Its a long story why I'm asking and not him, so I won't get into it. I've been searching around a little while and can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for. I'm looking for the most effective tunable ECU. I would prefer a stand alone and not a piggyback. It seems that the AEM EMS is the "best", but comes with a hefty price tage. From what I read some people have the DSMLink for their 1g's but they are still working out the kinks, and its not available to the general public yet. I read some good things about the Haltech, but it doesn't seem to give you too much tuning freedom.

I would love to get some feedback from you guys about what the consensus on ECU tuning is. Also, I have not ran across any dyno numbers to back up people's arguments. Dyno charts (or just numbers) would be very helpful. I'm sorry if I didn't search hard enough, but I am thankful for your help. :thumb: Thank you

(I wish this was a easy as my RSX-S, where its get Hondata or don't bother)

anybody? please?

Your post was only up about two hours. How about letting some people see it. :thumbdown

But anyway, each EFI has its perks and downsides. Unless you become a factory trained user of aem, stick to eprom ecu chips (keydiver) and a s-afc/2g mas. Best bang for the buck.

Id say the gm maft would probably be even easier to use then the 2g, and it has some built in tuning ability. then get the afc or wait for dsmlink to get the 1g public.

as far as a complete unit, Haltech has been very proven but I think the dsmlink is going to be the favorite since it requires so much less effort.

Sorry I guess I'm just alittle anxious, but I was more than two hours. Check the AM/PM on the times. But I am sorry. OMG

Thanks for the info guys. I will do some research about what you're suggesting. I did like what I read about the dsmlink. Is there any idea about when it should be available for the 1g? Their website is vauge. What kind of added numbers do the 2g's usually get with this after tuning; extra 20 whp or so? I know this is a question that can very so much with all the different variables and different mods on different cars, but just a ballpark would help.

Thanks for the help and keep the info coming. :thumb:

Unless your buddy plans on getting some serious power i.e. 500+ whp, then personally, I wouldn't advise of it. I feel personally that stand alone is only beneficial if you plan on tons of power, not 300 whp.

Hope I gave you hope.
