Ok so I'm rebuilding my motor and it's gonna be a street/strip car and it's my dd so it's gotta be reliable so far I have had all machine work done and had my 1g big rods reconditioned and hung on 2g style pistons now it's time to decide which bearings I should use I was thinking of using either king bearings or acl aluglide. Any thoughts?

I am using ACL Race bearings and would use them again. They are the standard on street/strip 4G63 builds.

The ACL Aluglide bearings are designed for OEM builds. If you you going to be pushing more then stock power then I would use the Race series. Here is a quote from ACL's website: Aluglide rod and main bearings were developed for OEM engines and have the inherent physical properties perfectly suited for replacement applications.

This is from ACL's performance website and shows a comparison between the Aluglide and Race bearings.

I am not very familiar with King bearings on 4G63's but like I said above, I would only use ACL Race bearings. They have been proven time and time again.

I hope this helps!

I originally spun a rod bearing and the machine shop ground and polished my crank

Oh. I did the same thing (Well I spun my BS bearings) but the owner of the shop who built my block (a hard core DSMer) told me that he wouldn't trust a ground and polished crank on a high performance build. I found a standard 6-bolt out of a running car for about $130 shipped off Ebay. If you want to go that route, make sure you get a standard crank.

Hope this helps!

* here is one that says it is in spec for standard bearings for $145 shipped but I would ask the seller to get the whole story and make sure it really is standard.

Yeah I'm gonna run my crank the shop that did the machine work is pretty reputable and said it would be fine and my buddy is running a ground and polished crank in his car that was done by the same shop

Yeah that defiantly makes me feel better about king bearings I plan on making around 350hp i have a big mhi 16g full supporting mods such as Wally 255 750cc injectors and I just scored an EPROM so I plan on tuning with link and I just want bearings that are not gonna fail on me.
