battery relocated

Ok just bought this 95 gsx and the battery was relocated to the trunk and it does not have a housing for it, it is just hanging out where my spare tire goes and I have 3 question

1. Any one know if the battery is ok to have in the car for daily driver?
2. All I can find is race battery trays. Does anyone know where I can find a mount or tray for it?
3. Is it smart?

1- If it is a sealed(Optima for example) it is ok. If it is a vented lead acid battery then it will release toxic fumes.
2- Battery trays are easy to find. Most auto parts stores will have the generic variety with hold downs.
3- I wouldn't say it is smart unless it is in a vented NHRA approved battery box.

I would also verify that the wire gauge is acceptable. A lot of people run to small of wire or don't run it properly.

1) If its a sealed batter as stated above it is ok to have in the car but would still be safer to have it in a sealed battery box (sold by summit and other vendors). These boxes are vented to the exterior of the vehicle.
2) An NHRA approved sealed box will come with a battery tie down built in.
3) It isnt unsmart but it is an expensive mod if you are only doing it for the cool factor.

Post pictures if you can so we can see what your setup looks like. Does it have any inline circuit breakers or fuses? does it have a remote cutoff switch on the rear of the car (also required for passing race inspections)?

Make sure your wire is at least 2 guage, anything smaller is a no no.

I relocated my battery a few years ago and when I did it we used Summit racing's battery box/relocation kit and I also installed a kill switch through my rear bumper right next to my licesence plate. I recommend buying a battery box to not only tie the battery down but also provide you with some safety believe me battery acid burns (science project back in middle school went really wrong)
I think summits kits are like $100-$200
