Ok so Im getting things ready to hit the 1/4 pretty soon.

One of the things Im trying to do is as much weight savings as possible.

Im not gutting my nice DD.
Im not going small battery.

Im doing things
Taking out Tire and things in trunk
Taking out hatch cover
Taking out back bench ( Can I get the folding seats out? without f'ing anything up)
Making sure I hit the track with 1/3 a tank of gas.
Im going to empty my windshield washer

I was thinking about Passenger Seat and AMP.
My amp is allready bypassed. How easy is it to take out the manual passenger seat and replace it?

Any other weight saving track tips would be great.
Didnt know where to post this so it went here.

The passenger seat is easy as cake to get out. just make sure it's locked into position once the four bolts are out!

Is your AC hooked up and working ? If not you might want to take the time to pull the compressor lines and condenser.

Yeah things like the AC and ABS are indeed heavy.

But Im not looking to rip anything out like that.
The Carpet and sound material is all staying.

Im mainly looking for things I have missed that will save me 10 or 15 pounds that I can take care of.

I dont know how well the spare tire holder is in but if its only a few bolts maybe ill take that out, along with the windshield spraying pump if I can just unhook that lines and pop that out with a few bolts.

Ill have to check into that.
Anyone have any ideas like these?

Mines a DD and I took mine out, I didn't get the memo. It is okay to remove it, doesnt run most of them time anyway ;p

Well to be truthfull mines not even a DD
I drive her once or twice a week if that.

Shes more of a Nice sunny day drive or nightime jet.

WEW

So When It gets 80+ in washington and Im not used to it cause its normally 50 I need that AC! LOL!

It's a DD i don't think he wants to lose the AC.

That's why I asked if it was hooked up and working and said if not then try.

You would be suprised how much dead weight is under the hood that you can shed with a little work, But then again I am leaving my AC in mine since it is a fair weather toy and not a track monster.

Take out the crash beams in the doors. Easily removable and put back in after the track. The back seats are easy to get out too. They're like two bolts holding it on. Gut the trunk. You're not looking in it 90% of the time and nobody sits back there. Do you need cruise control? I know I don't. Take it out.

I removed my power steering pump, some lines and reservoir. It cleaned up my engine bay a bit.

I don't mind the extra workout getting out of parking spaces ROFL

edit: I also have cruise control removed, spare tire removed, and bench removed. I got my car weighed with me in it - 3000 pounds even.

I do have two 10inch subs in the back and random tools in the car. AC is still there just no belt on it and not charged.. so theres more weight to lose.

I've always been curious about how so many DSMs are so clean under the hood. Almost as if mine has every single cable, wire, plug, under the hood that Eagle thought to put under there.

Taboo shop vacuum line removal helps a good bit.
