Literally never had an issue removing ball joints with a jack under the ball joint
A braker bar and a 5lb hammer
Help a lot
I pretty much had the jack under the ball joint no wood and lifted it up until it just started to rise up and there was no way that ball joint was spinning

Try an Spray the ball joint with pb blaster

I'd recommend two people and don't damage the nut

When my control arm got siezed I tried a butane tourch, 5lb hammer, braker bar , pry bar, acetylene tourch ,air chissle and then we had to cut it out in pieces wasn't fun so
good luck it sucks when stuff doesn't go the way it should

I always use an old blackjack jack from Walmart. The cup of the jack fits perfectly under the ball joint and then I jack it up til the car lifts off the jack stands. If the nut is seized I would try using a nut splitter. You just have to be real careful you don't damage the threads on the bj and just get a new nut. I've used the nut splitter with great success on seized tie rod ends and sway bar links.
The wood method I've only used for the upper ball joint.

The leverage did help. For future searches.. I place a breaker bar between the two lower and and jack up one end..
