Have a question, would it be wise move to get rid of the balance shafts that are inside of the block? I heard they have a kit to get rid of them and I was wondering since I have the block apart if this is something I should do?

It is, its less roatating mass on the crank, one less belt to worry about. If that belt comes apart it usually takes out the timing belt. They refer to the kit as a Balance Shaft Eliminator Kit B.S.E.K. You will have to switch around the bearing tho.
