ok guys. I need a little advice. I have a 7 bolt forom a 99 gst. I spun a rod bearing, so had to do a complete teardown. I got down to the oil pump and accessories. When I pulled the oil pump, a shaft came out with it. Is this the fromt or rear balance shaft? Anyway, the one that stayed in there was seized due to metal shavings from my rod bearing. I brought it to my local machine shop and he said he could pull it out but would wind up ruining the bushing. I also ordered the Balance shaft eliminator kit from dsmparts.com since I was doing a teardown anyway. Do both of these shafts come out and stay out in order to install the balance shaft elim. kit? I know it comes with new bearings, but still a little fuzzy on this. I have read multiple forums, and still need a little help. basically:

Do both balance shafts come out?
Does the kit include everything I need to install?
Any ideas?

The new bearings goes in and these bearings covers the oil lines that feeds the shafts so your oil pressure can stay up- the main purpose of these bearings.

Otherwise, with the BS removal and you don't use these bearings, you'll lose oil pressure dramatically.

Yep, both shafts comes out and with the removal of the front shaft, you need to put the tensioner bolt back in it's respective hole and seal it, otherwise, you have oil leakage real bad.

Good luck with the rebuild- DSM

Thats exactly what I needed to know. Thanks. How difficult is it going to be to install the new bearings, and what would be the easiest method to installation? Would you recommend JB weld for the plug on the oil pump?
