hello, im new and i have found a 1995 eagle talon esi for sale its not running and they say the problem with it is a bad timing belt. is there anything else that could be wrong with it? ( i know hondas can have valve problems because of this) also what it would cost to replace them myself if i purchased it.
(i searched thru and found bits and pieces of information but couldnt ascertain any straight answer)

Twizzle is right if the timing belt skipped i would bank on having some bent valves. In my case, when the valves hit the pistons, i was still able to reuse my pistons. It really leaves you with two options, the rebuild kit if you have the time. Or you could just get a used head like I did and slap that puppy on without the hassle of tearing the head apart. You can check the dsmtrader or ebay, with luck you can get a complete head for pretty cheap.

that u very much guys i really want this car but if the engine is pooped then its gonna be quite a hassle :talon: thanks alot again

Any non-running car is a hassle, that's why it's for sale.

However, with DSMs, you get approximately the same amount of hassle with a good-running one. :thumb:
