I have a 95' Eclipse gs. When I hit a small bump in the road the tail end wants to slide to the right or it feels like its trying to. At hwy speeds this is not a good feeling. Would bad shocks or springs cause this and if not what would.

Bad shocks can definitely cause the rear end to feel loose. Bad wheel bearings or poor alignment could also be the cause, but if you haven't replaced the shocks recently I'd start there.

If this problem was present prior to hitting the bump, then I would agree that worn Upper Control Arm bushing could be the cause; if the behavior started only after the collision with this excessive fission, then I wouldn't suspect the bushings.

Any updates OP?

Are the rear upper control arms known to go bad on our vehicles? I blew my LR strut the other day...the strut literally broke off the strut top mount. That made my ass end slide up. Check it out! BTW a blown strut doesnt have to leak to be bad...mine didnt leak at all and they were shot!
