Winnipeg,
I am having a very hard time shifting through all gears. The shift cables seems like its binding or worn or something..

I disconnected the shift cable at the transmission and went through the gears manually and everything was buttery smooth. After hooking the cable back up and trying it is really hard to go through the gears.

I figure it has something to do with the shift cable, but I am not sure how to tell if it is bad or if there is something else that might be causing the problem.

Any help is greatly appreciated. It is a 1995 GST.

Thanks,
Chris.

I just pulled the whole gear shift cable assmebly and sure enough one of the cables is totally seized now.

One of the cables is good however.. Do I have to purchase both cables as a single unit?

Anyone know of a good/cheap place to purchase one?

Thanks,
Chris.

The two cables are made into the rubber grommet on the NT cars and I was told when replacing them I had to buy the pair. But I just cut a slit in the rubber grommet and found one good cable at the scrap yard and replaced it. IDK if the design is the same as the NTs but I would assume you could fabricate a grommet and save some $$$$$$

Youll probably have more luck at a yard that you can actually pull your own parts. Most salvage yards cut these along w harnesses when removing the engines
