I have a CEl on in my 1993 gsx with 2g maf and im getting the code for air flow sensor, does that mean my maf is bad because i just bought this maf a week ago. When i unplug the maf my idle does change so i thought it was good but now have CEL , I cleaned if real good with mass air flow cleaner but didnt fix problem. Do i need to by a another maf or can i fix this one. Thanks

Did you literally just throw a 2g MAF in there?

And MAF cleaner is exact opposite of what you want to do with mitsubishi MAF's. It kills them. There's a warning on the label that even states not to use with karman vortex MAFs (aka mitsubishi)

Yea I had a hks high flow intake maf and it went bad so i bought a 2g maf with a pigtail and swap it in and i was getting codes for intake air sensor temp and air intake sensor so i cleaned it and now I have only the one code for air intake sensor, can I fix it or is it toast and how do i clean the 2g maf. I used CRC Mass flow cleaner and it says nothing about not using it on karman maf it says safe on all maf i think that was on the old cans.

I have a can of CRC brand MAF cleaner and there is no warning like that anywhere on it. Says its safe for all MAFs. Is this ok to use?

Your main problem is that you put a 2g maf without any tuning device. You can't just slap a bigger MAF in and call it good. I'd suggest switching back to a stock maf or investing in ecmlink if you have the money.

Some say it, some don't. The new cans all say it, I'd suggest NOT using it as I'd assume they found out it's not good on karman vortex MAF's and THEN put the label on.

According to my personal experiance, you cant just install a 2g mass into a 1g without proper tune. You'll need an 1g to 2g mass harness/wire connector, plus it will have a very rough idle and will die. You'll need at least ecmlink to make the adjust switch from 1g mass to 2g mass. Just a click on ecmlink to make it work.

Mass sensor usually don't have any problem with them defectively, unless it's all beat up inside the honeycomb.

maxing out at:
1g mass-290whp
2g mass-450whp
evo mass-520whp
maf-t-520+whp
