Hi everyone i hope i can get some help i have searched and searched to see what could be causing this but nothing so far so hopefully you guys can help.
Ok im leaking oil from right underneath my intercooler.I have checked my oil lines coming from the oil filter mount to the oil cooler and there is nothing leaking from there.I have checked the oil pan and all the places i would think and would be checked when leaking oil like seals etc...No leaks it is only coming from that general area of right under neath the intercooler and right under the radiator...So i assumer i have a crack in one of my rubber hoses and its leaking.I changed the hoses and used new clamps and everything went to put oil back in the car and started it and it absolutely poored out like crazy!!!...So i kept it running and wiper the hoses down and check my oil cooler connections and the oil cooler itself and nothing was leaking?...I am absolutley clueless on wats going on and any help would be greatly appreciated!.

Ah so your saying its leaking from under the inter-cooler. And that uve checked it out.. Were any of the pipes or the intercooler filled with oil.
I know when my evo3 16g went bad it started smoking a bit at a light after some pulls. I pulled into gas station and seen oil dripping from the intake pipe. pulled it and my turbo had oil in it..The seals had went bad and it filled the inter-cooler with oil. I would check the turbo shaft play and look for oil.

yes it is in that area im not sure exactly where it is coming from till i get the front bumper off and can see better. It is pooring from right under in between where the intercooler is and radiator at the bottom. My turbo has zero shaft play done checked it.There is a top hose coming off the oil filter mount running to something but it is not the intercooler? I think that hose is leaking but im not sure yet.Just wondering what that hose could possibly run to.It runs right under the radiator somewhere if anybody knows what that hose is let me know. The two hose that run off the side of the Oil filter mount and run to the oil cooler are not leaking at all but i wonder what that top hose is?

im not one hundered percent sure if there is or not the only ive seen is the one mount in front of the radiator thats it.Can there possibly be two oil coolers on the car? and wouldnt there be a inlet hose and a outlet if there was? Because there is only one hose running up in that direction.

Oil cooler will be on driver side right behind the bumper if its external(looks like a mini radiator). Yes there can be two if the car came stock with an internal cooler and then the previous owner decided to move to an external. Idk what the process for that change is but it would seem if he did change it and didnt rerun the tube properly, that would leave the problem your having.. And no shaft play doesn't mean a seal isnt ruined trust me thats how the evo3 i have is. As for the tube Id think its the return line for the oil cooler or turbo. Il look in the morning on my car to see if i cant find out what it is. Pop of your lowest IC pipe the one from the turbo and see if its got oil in there its a lot easier then taking off the bumper. if its been sitting for a while though this wont work as the oil will have settled in the IC.

yea it was already modded when i bought the car.Any other ideas on ### the problem could possibly be besides a hose of some sort that has busted maybe? I also dont have any oil pressure at all and my turbo sounds very like swishy when i give it gas and go down the street? Maybe a bad turbo possibly? But im not smoking whatsoever.

ohhh i got it parked and will not be driven until i find out what the problem is..I juster wonder why my oil pressure went dead when this happened.Makes me lean towards it being a hose of some short bleeding oil pressure.

That could just be the turbo filling the IC and pushing the air threw it mine is the same exact way.A wooshing isn't bad its the whining like a super charger thats how you know its going bad. But that might not even happen my car the only reason i knew my turbo S*** out was the smoke. And could very well be a line busted or cracked and only leaks as pressure build up in it, then it leaks on the IC piping and down to the IC itself.
Pull a plug see if its covered in oil thats a quick way to see if your burning it from the turbo or it somehow getting threw the intake. But even with that if its not bad enough the oil might not ever make it to the intake. Check plugs, lower IC piping and the IC if you get a chance. if all those check out then that really only leaves lines somewhere being cracked, broken ect.

I just seen your post about the oil pressure.. that does indeed look like a line. or the pump gasket to block went bad and is causing it to leak down the lines

Ok ill check those things and let you guys know what i find and keep you informed on everything i as i go im off work tomorrow so im gonna tackle it all day and see if i can get it fixed and going good again. Thanks for the advice guys i appreciate it.The car ran fine till after i went to the car wash then done a small pull afterwards then it started leaking like crazy. My turbo doesnt sound whiny at all just you can hear the spoil very good now.Makes me think the oil lines are bad because its starving the turbo from oil.I'll keep you informed on what i find.

yes...i washed the fender wells but not the motor.Im really thinking its a line as well..### it was fine till after i done that pull and pulled into a parking lot and heard the turbo and it sounded very odd and i looked under the front bumper and it was gushing out like crazy almost a constant stream just about. But the lines going from my oil filter mount to my oil cooler and the tope hose is all rubber? Would that still cause that to happen if the hose was old and worn down?

I also washed the fmic as well and right behind it is where it is pooring oil right behind the IC and right below the radiator.

My stock external oil cooler is all stainless. actually all my lines in my car are except the rad. hoses and my oil return line which is solid metal. ya i would think it could cause a leak. but gushing that just seems like something completly snapped or popped off, not just a little rip in the hose.

well the hoses really seemed old when i looked at them. But they are known to build pressure in the weak part of the hose and knot up causing them to bust and that is what i think happened somewhere or it cracked hose really bad somehow. But all the hoses was on the oil cooler fine and very tight.I leaning towards it being that top hose has come off somehow or it busted out really bad.

Yea they are on the turbo and they run to the oil filter mount then there is two hoses that come off the side of it to the oil cooler then there is that top hose that runs to the direction of the bottom of the radiator. Its leaking from right in there more to the left middle part right underneath the IC and Radiator.

ok well i just went out to my car(its really cold and raining out so only looked quick) but i see no line coming from the oil filter housing or from my cooler(il look again in the morning to be sure but im pretty possitive there isnt one.) now what i did see is that my power steering lines do go directly in front of the radiator and are pretty much right above that filter housing. so this brings up the question are you sure its oil not just dirty ass steering fluid.. not trying to flame you just want to cover all bases.

Yes im sure because i went to put three quarts of oil in my car and it didnt leak at all till i started it then it started pooring out.I understand completley..thats another things once the car cools down it wont leak at all but as soon as i start it thats when it starts leaking almost instantly. The line doesnt go from the top of the oil filter mount it is kind of off to the side towards the passenger side direction(I just looked sorry about the bad info on that)and it curves and come down and runs straight up itno the gap in my front crash bar right under the radiator.

ok well my oil filter housing only has two lines. right beside eachother on the far driver side of the car. one feeds into the bottom of the oil cooler and other returns from the exact oppisite side of the cooler back to the housing. The front of it though has what looks to be a spot for another hook up if needed but is plugged with a bold looking thing. So if your cooler has both lines attached and there both attached to the housing idk why there would need to be a third one.

Exactly thats how my lines are on mine.I was also thinking the same thing why would there be a need for another line running off of that oil filter mount?.Unless it is the oil feed line for the turbo possibly?.Im going to check first thing in the morning and take pictures of everything so you can see what im looking at.That will help figure the problem out alot faster.I will post them first thing so everyone can see what is going on and ill take a picture of where it is leaking as well. But im almost certain its a oil line cracked or busted out of some sort but want to be one hundred percent sure before i assume.Because my oil pressure is dead my turbo isnt getting any oil whatsoever ive checked everything else to see if the leak was coming from there and it's not.Only from the place i stated it was coming from thats it.It has to be a line of some sort.Just has to be.

ya for sher is a line. IF its the oil feed line then you should be able to look and see it right on top of the turbo.. But ya man post some pics well get it figuered out theres no way its to bad of a issue.
ANd thats the best way to do it id rather sit the car in my garage for a year then drive it while i am assuming something is ok. Asuming just doesnt work with these cars

Will do thanks for ya help and advice man been very helpful on what i need to check and look for,But ill have those pics up tommorrow as soon as possible for ya to see what im talking about.Im sure it is something simple.Because it ran to good till this happened to be something serious.I did have a small leak before as well and i knew it was a line before i think it just finally gave out.But il post them and keep ya updated as i go tomorrow

Found out the problem! It was the rubber hose coming from my oil filter mount to my oil cooler it had a 2 inch gash long ways in it and was pooring oil.Couldnt see it because the gashed side was right in between the crash bar and radiator fixed it with steel braided lines and problem is solved no leaks awesome oil pressure! Thanks for all the advice and tips on what to look for guys i appreciate it! My dsm is back on the road wooohoooo!!!!
