My check engine light was on when i bought my car, and nowhere around here has a computer that is old enough to tell me what is wrong with my car. So I finally found a place that could do it. I got my car checked out and the O2 sensor is bad, but the place I went couldn't tell me if it was the intake or exhaust one. I know totally Sh*tty luck. Is there anyway I can tell which one it is besides going somewhere else adn having it checked again? I don't wanna replace one and have it be the wrong one. I'm fairly broke :dsm:

Disconnect your battery and let the ECU reset. If it turns on again, then there might be something wrong.

Did you check your gas mileage lately? If it is alot less than normal, it is a true indication of a faulty O2 sensor. Sometimes a bad O2 sensor diagnosis can be caused by as simple as a bad batch of gas from the pump.

Thanks for all the help. My mileage has actually been pretty good around 380 miles per tank. Its been bad sense i got the car so i dunno what its suppose to be like but that seems pretty good to me.

If you have a multimeter you can check if the 02 sensor is actually changing volts for rich to lean. Make sure the car is warmed up before you check. Or if you know someone with a datalogger you can check what the ecu is seeing from the O2 sensor.
