bad boost spike

So my car has been having a really nast boost spike up tp 25+ psi....Ive checked the wastegate on the turbo. Ive replaced vac lines checked the mbc to make sure it was plumbed in correctly and even tried running the lines back to the stock boost silinoid. i was told if there is a vac leak it can cause it to spike boost. the car has a 16g fmic 3 inch down pipe and exhaust, intake. i was also told if my intake manifold gasket has a leak in it it could cause a boost spike and vac leak? i havent checked the intake mani gasket yet because i wasnt sure if what i was told is true. If you have any ideas on what could be going on let me know because im running out of ideas. thanks

first off you can do a boost leak test to find out if you have any boost / vac leaks. i think you are having boost creep not boost spike , spike is where you hit a higher psi before leveling off to your set psi, i think its creep because you are running a 16g with a 3" downpipe and exhaust and its a common problem you can search about it for solutions. when i was running my big 16g with 3" exhaust i had the same problem till i did the Mr. peepers wastegate mod.
