OK guys and gals, this is my first post on this forum, but I've been on many forums before so I'm not a true n00bie. I'll let this thread serve as my welcome to the forum, if you want to flame me, bring on the fire bitches!
I just bought a '95 AWD Talon. Mods are: Ported 16g, VP ported o2 housing, 2.5" test pipe, 2.5" Extreme Motorsports exhaust, K/N FIPK, HKS TT and VDO b00st gauge. In any event, when the engine starts to build boost it's OK, but anything over 8psi causes the car to hesitate, jump, jerk back and forth, sputter...just run like crap. The guy who sold it to me said it was a bad clutch, causing the fuel cut to kick in b/c of high boost. I say that's BS b/c the engine doesn't rev freely like it would if the clutch was bad. Anyhoo, I checked the o2 sensor voltage and it stayed constant at .46v Upstream o2 sensors are supposed to sweep from rich to lean, but I don't really see that as the cause of the problem. I haven't pulled the plugs yet and I'm really frustrated b/c I haven't been able to drive the car like I want to at all. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks for having me guys!
