I am new to the whole turbo seen and i have read alot about compressor surge and my car is not gonna get treated the best(will be maintained but any honda will deffinately not go passed me) and i would like to install an aftermarket bov can i do this with the stock rubber intercooler pipes or do i have to switch to an aftermarket FMIC with hard pipes befor i can do it??? any help would be awesome!!!

You can change the BOV anytime you like, as long as you recirculate the diverted air back into your pre-turbo intake pipe. Contrary to what one particular jackass says, venting will screw with your A/F ratio.

That being said, the 1g BOV is an awesome part; that's the last thing you want to change.

Why? Your stock valve does it's job better than anything you'll pay less than $200 for in the aftermarket, and as long as your car is somewhat stock you'll never require a $200+ blow off valve.

Keep it stock, and spend your money elsewhere.

Stick with the 1g BOV and you will be fine, even a lot of 2gs are running 1g BOVs.

1G bov is a great piece, I'm putting one on my 2G tomorrow.

The 1G valve can be modified to hold upwards of 30psi IIRC. Google Dodge mod 1G BOV.

I do agree. I have a 1g bov on my car, mods are in profile. I just throw on my 3" full exhaust... my 14b definetly spiked up around 27 lbs. WTF. HOPEFULLY the 1g bov saved me, and leaked anything past 20 lbs. I'm interested in this Dodge Mod for the 1g bov. But I would rather pay and have it already done. I'm just that lazy and have so much going on. I need a tune damn it
