Axle Removal Help

Hey guys, I'm pulling the engine and I can't seem to get the axle spline part out of the transaxle. I've never pulled an axle before, so I may be doing something wrong. I got all the bolts off connecting the axle's to the wheels, so the axle's are free, I just can't pull them out of the transaxle to drop the tranny. I have tried using a prybar between the axle and the transmission and it doesn't seem to want to come. Any help would be wonderful.

Keep trying. There is nothing holding them in that you need to un-do. They just pry out.

You can pop the oil seals which makes it easier but they will need to be replaced after you do that. Otherwise just use a pry bar and a hammer it should pop right out.

I usually can get in from the bottom of the car with a medium sized pry bar. Just get a good bite and pry hard, it will pop out.

I had a tough time popping my passenger side one. Everyone said just to use a prybar and lots of force. I have the same advice, but take that literally. LOTS of force. I had to wedge a large screw driver in, lay down, and kick it as hard as I could to get it to pop.

On every shaft I've pulled it seems to help if you pry evenly on 2 sides of the shaft. It takes a little more agility (best word to use?) but it feels like even force on the shaft helps. Maybe it's just me though... !
