I have a 96 AWD Talon. I went to the dragstrip the other week and i'm hooked! It has a descently built tranny but I don't want the rip the center differential or transfer case out of it so im converting it to FWD. I figure this way it will spin before it breaks (most of the time) and my top end power would be better and I would get better gas mileagle since its my DD. My question is what exactly do I need off of a FWD to do this?
I have heard you need the rear hubs off the FWD to be able to take out the shafts..
I have also heard that the cv shafts in the front are different...
I want to do this without any major problems, so if you guys can help me that would be awesome.. stuff like front hubs, cv shafts, flywheel, starter, clutch, mounts, crossmembers, ect.
Also, if anyone has a FWD looking to converting to an AWD PM me, maybe we can work something out as long as your stuff is in good shape also.
Please no negative comments telling me how stupid I am, it's what I want to do. I don't want to sell my car and buy another, I have done too much to mine and its finally the way I want it... -the AWD
