I really f king hate DSM FB pages. It's always people on there talking shit, that have never done a damn thing themselves. I was doing a lot of things they talk about in 2006! Idiots. gets my blood boiling. I refuse to partake in IG and Tiktok...but unfortunately do watch videos there because sometimes that is the only way to consume that information.

This is the hardest part about FB. Sometimes I want to turn into early 2000s Dave Buschur and rip everyone a new one. But ignoring social media in general has been amazing. Cruising the forums and reminiscing is cool. Remember when people used to give shout outs for helping out with problems and advice? The gratitude and appreciation is still here on the forums it seems.

FB has all the worst qualities of a large unmoderated forum, amplified times a million, minus the topical focus. It has all the same issues forums have dealt with since the beginning with no real good way to address any of it. You’re constantly fighting the algorithm trying to keep your feed clean. It’s full of ads, but even a lot of the non-ad content feels like marketing and spam. Everyone’s an influencer now, which makes it even more f’n annoying to use.

It started out interesting but it’s mostly just a huge ongoing circus now where everyone on there is marketing to everyone else, as if trying out for the role of a PR intern, while the trolls toss grenades…. And every once in a while you’ll see a few family members and friends mixed in, getting drowned out by all the hype slingers and cOnTEnT CrEaToRs (marketers of something). It’s like watching one endless series of commercials just to see a few minutes of a show you only like a little bit.
