My #1 injector went out in my '95 Talon TSi AWD, it started cutting out at low RPMs and high boost. I picked up a set of used injectors with only 50k miles for $20 of off Craigslist. As I'm tearing into things, I noticed my injectors are different then what I got used. With my luck, the injectors are off of a non-turbo or automatic (or both) car. D'oh! I should have known better it's completely my fault, I should of asked what they were coming out of before I bought them.

My question is this. My stock injectors are 450cc DSM blacktops. What I got used are gray DSM injectors, probably off of an automatic, non-turbo car knowing my luck. I know the CC's on the non-turbo and automatic injectors are smaller. Can I limp by for a week or two with these smaller injectors or am I going to trash my engine? I'll buy a set of re-built 450cc injectors, but in the mean time I just want to be able to get to work and whatnot, I'm hoping these used smaller injectors will work.

What do you guys think?

What are the markings on the injectors you purchased? Also 90% of the injector issues and codes I've run into on dsm's with stock injectors were a wiring issue.

Marking I see is "4669011" and a Chrysler logo on one side. The other side says "280 150 965". I looked it up and according to https://www.injectorrx.com/bosch-fuel-injectors/ it says they have 12.1 ohm resistance, and 238cc Minimum and 28 Lbs/hr

If that info is right, they are a far cry from my original 450cc injectors. Will they even work?

Nevermind, they won't even fit up into the fuel rail :banghead:.

Sooo Donniekak, what were you saying about wiring issues? Maybe my injectors are fine. What should I look at that would cause a #1 injector code & intermittent injector function??

Lots of times it's an issue with the clip that plugs into the injector. A usual procedure to see if it's an injector or wiring issue is to move the injector and see if the issue follows the injector, or plug. For example if you swap injectors 1 and 4, and the issue follows the injector, it's a bad injector. If cylinder #1 still has an issue after putting the injector from #4 there, it's an issue with the #1 injector circuit.
