Okay I know I have seen this some where. But I tried to search it and couldnt find it.

What is the fitment years for a 2g automatic transmission. I have a 96 but I could swear that I read that 95-96 was one trans and that 97-99 was another. When I call around looking for one the places are telling me that its the same from 95-99. So which is correct?

You are correct, sort of. It isn't a fitment issue, it has to do with the gearing inside the transmission. The 97+ is slightly different. If you want to run a 97 transmission, you would need to use a 97+ transfer case as well.
