auto tranny probs

hey guys, my tranny shifts great and is very smooth. But it has decided to downshift while cruise is set at 80 mph. thats a rude awakening!! sometimes when i start the car up it clunks into gear hard and only runs in drive(not overdrive). usually you can turn the car off and restart and it might work perfect...it seems to be electronic,,anyone heard of anything like this before?? I gettin afraid it might decide to shift down to first next time and blow me up!!!

Don't quote me on this, but I am afraid your end clutch is going. I think the end clutch is 4th gear in your Auto. When is the last time you had an automatic trans flush? My car was doing the same thing until I had a automatic trans. flush. It did fixed my problem for now.
