auto thermostat?

just went for first drive . maybe 30 minutes. when I got back the trans cooler wasnt even warm. is it possible it didnt get hot enough to reach opening temp?? it was about 78-80 degress outside here in tampa.
 
Get on the converter for a couple seconds, it'll get warm quick.

Are you sure fluid is going through it?

no I am not sure. kinda why I am asking. seems it should get hot after 10 minutes.

looking at flow diagrams it looks like there is no thermostat?
