While taking apart my motor from my thread before. I noticed that my motor is an automatic motor. It has the smaller intake cam and I now remember the previous owner saying the fuel pressure was 43 (1g auto). The motor was replaced by the PO. I was wondering if the ECU would have problems with the smaller cam and different fuel pressure. I know there have been threads about Auto to 5 speed, but this is a little backwards.

Shouldn't cause a problem. 1g fuel pressure is 37 not 43. The intake cam is a little smaller but the turbo is also smaller. Shouldn't be an issue. It has been done before.

You said it is a 5speed ecu in there with a auto trans?

If you i would see a problem with the car shifting, I could be wrong.

On DSMs the ECU and TCU share sensors but don't otherwise communicate.

It's somewhat interesting that because of the difference in base fuel pressure the 1G automatic has injectors that are 390cc and the manual has ones that net about 410cc. Not a huge difference.

95blackgsturbo, I probably should have mentioned it has 550's and a small 16g. So the stock injector size/turbo are irrelevant. I'm pretty sure the automatic 1g had a higher fuel pressure, like what Steve said above.

and sorry for not being clear reeper. It is a 5 speed car, with a 5 speed ECU, but the replacement motor is from a automatic car. So only the cam and fuel pressure is different from the manual.

really it DOSENT MATTER, if you wanna complain about the cams i have a set of manual cam's you can buy from me.. and the fuel pressure is irrelevant, if your running a larger than stock fuel pump run an adjustable regulator.. or if your running the factory pump use the regulator from a factory 5spd.. i also have one.. if you wanan buy it..

close this one up, its done...
