I have a 92 Talon TSi AWD, and its automatic...yea it kills it. But the car hasnt been right since I bought it, I understand the auto's are a dog compared to the manual versions. But this car is just plain slow. I had the TCU replaced because of shifting issues. Then I tooK it to a local Mitsubishi dealer for some idle issues and for a running problem after I had installed an EVO 3 manifold and turbo running STOCK boost. It had slightly jumped timing they said and they corrected that. Now, the car has no engine damage top nor bottom, and idle's great. But when I get on it, cold or hot, it spools up like almost full boost 7-10 psi, and I have no power to show for it, its just doggy. Now another thing is my balance shafts are out of time, and I have a nice vibration that i have to cure quickly or i'll have pieces. Like I said earlier, I know automatics are slower, but this is slower then a regular automatic. Any comments, would be appreciated, just post, or email [email protected], or AIM me at that s/n

ive driven in an automatic and a manual, both was stock, my friend had the manual and i have the automatic, he is a very good shifter and both cars were stock, he beat me buy almost a car, there not that much faster, automatics are very underrated, they have there advantage such as can hold boost better than manuals, and they also have there disadvantages. But i think automatics come with 205hp and manual version comes with 210hp i think thats why he beat me by almost a car length...

I think your suffering from a BOOsT LEAK

First off the auto's have a slightly smaller turbo, also have you checked your motor mounts? That could be alot of the problem with the vibration along with the balance shaft. That you either need to get rid of or change. I myself am a manual fan. However dont get discouraged. The auto seems to be the way to go lately. Look at it this way. You have constant boost.:thumb:

The vibration is definietly balance shafts...For boost leaks, how can I put pressure in the system to really test for it? And for a first gen Talon, whats a good gasket for the J pipe? Also the first gen manuals and autos are like 195hp I believe some where in that area. Well thanks for everyones input, if NE one else has a solution, just lemme know via AIM or posts, musclecarskick
