I am trying to get my transmission rebuild (Automatic) for my GSX and I was wondering how much does it cost to get it done? I am trying to see how much it will run me and what is a fair price for parts and labor.

When I had my auto rebuilt in my 96gsx years back, they picked it up from my house. The cost was $2,750 for a race rebuild. It came with 12month/12k warranty. Drove it for 2years before selling it

I just want the bands and the other things replaced I dont really want a race setup.. I basically dont have 1st and an iffy 2nd..

Just go get a couple estimates. I'd say your looking at a minimum of $700 and that's if you pull it yourself. Expect more if any hard parts are damaged.

I have a 2g auto tranny i'll let go. It has exactly 100k on it. I got it for a replacement for my car because we cracked the housing on mine but we had it welded and the mechanic said it will hold because no tourque is applied to the housing. So I have no use for it. Let me know

I wanna be able to choose what rebuild kit I want for the A/T but for some reason I cannot find any vendors or sites that sell the rebuild kit for my car. And has anyone ever done an overhaul kit and if so would it be hard for me to do it myself with no experience in transmission>?

Filter and stuff like that is not hard but I would not do the full overhaul without experiance or someone with experiance a phone call away. It would just suck if you install the servos and all take the time to mount the damn thing back on then go into D and destroy the parts you just put in because not properly installed.

I downloaded a full rebuild manual for the dsm autos. If you auto awd, then your trans model is w4a33. Do a search on google and you'll find it. I forgot the exact site, it was a few months back

No, you won't be able to "wing it" with an auto trans. And it will cost you more when you bring a box of parts to a transmission shop and say "uhh I messed up."

My transmission is shot or atleast I think its the transmission maybe the torque converter, but anyways I cannot seem to find a rebuild kit for it or the torque converter, I googled it and everythin, anyone know of a site that has a overhaul kit for my car (automatic trans for a GSX) its all wheel drive just in case somebody dont know. Thanks.
