Are 2g headers a direct bolt on to 1g's

I heard 1g headers crack easily and arent as good as 2g headers...

if this is true would swapping out 1g headers for 2g headers be a good idea? and if so is it a direct bolt on

Yes the exhaust manifolds for the turbo cars are a direct swap.

It's true they are better because they are wider and have more room to run the air through. Plus they got more meat to "get rid of" when you're porting them if you do so.

It's not a "header" it's a m a n i f o l d and there's only one of them on the car. It's what the turbo is attached to.

I know the headers are the exhaust mani(header comes from owning a honda before even though i havent owned one for about 8 months now)

and i know theres only one

You'll have to grind a little off the manifold so it won't hit the engine mount. See the vfaq, look in the porting section http://www.vfaq.com/index-main.html

Also 1g manifolds are more crack prone. Evo3 ones will work also. I think i saw an add on this site for them pretty cheap.

I have a 2G manifold on my 91 GSX. I didn't have to grind anything. Weird.

Maybe different year 1g's had a different bracket. Don't know. Mine works just fine though

i think they have them on DSMparts for 189 for a evoIII and 199 for a 2g

and thanx forced4 that clears up alot
