I put on my RRE downpipe (long) and Apexi n1 catback. Problem is the bpipe is hitting my driveshaft and it hangs really high for some reason. (usually this would be good, but not on AWD), and the tip is hitting the muffler. I put it on the right way and all the rubber hangers are on. Would maybe disconnecting Downpipe and trying to lower the catback part then reconnecting it help out? any ideas?

thanks

are you sure you got the AWD version of both items? The FWD has a VERY weird bend at the muffler compared to the AWDs (atleast on the 2Gs). Then the downpipe on the FWDs have 2 sharp bends where the AWDs have 2 very gentle bends as you can see on the this link about half way down http://www.roadraceengineering.com/eclexhaust.htm , As long as the flanges are all mated correctly and are sitting flush with eachother, it will do nothing to try and unbolt it then bolt it back up. But it sounds to be that you might have a FWD part somewhere in the system. Id compare the Downpipe first then compare the catback.

i had that same problem the drive train has like a metal tab attachment that is used to hold the stock exhaust in place its only held in by two bolts..take it off and you should stop rubbing the metal bracket is located right by the middle of the car try taking it out hope this helps

I have the right downpipe. The problem is when the two hangers where the axleback portion bolt is are on it hits the driveshaft right where it enters the diff. It seems to hang too high, and when I remove the two hangers and leave the one on muffler and the rest on Bpipe on it hangs a little lower but doesn't rub anything. I'm going to leave it on the one hanger untill I figure what to do. I know there are thicker rubber hangers that have four holes instead of two at pepboys but I've never seen longer ones. Do they exist?

thanks

well, waking this from the dead, im having the same problem. mine is right before the bpipe connects and it hits the joint in the driveshaft. can i just dremel out a little of the exhuast joint? (the part i would be dremeling would be next to the bolt, not right into the pipe)

I had a similar problem where the dp and cat-back connect. I rigged the exhaust so it was as far away from the driveshaft as possible with a shorter hanger on the opposite side. It is a temporary fix, but has worked so-far. You could try this if you want. If a flange is hitting something you can always take some material off those with a dremel depending on how it is hitting.
