I wanted to know what everyone thinks of the apexi exhaust system from the full n1 down pipe to the complete catback exhaust if you have please let me know if it good very interested about gettin one for my 1g gsx.

I wouldnt waste that much money at all, its really the dumbest most expensive mod you can do. Take It to a shop and have them make you a custom 3 inch. It will cost about 100 maybe 120 if the guy is expensive. Of course your going to want to by a high flow muffler. I got mine from magnaflow for 80 dollars. It was a straight through design no stupid chambers and stuff. The car is extremely aggresive sounding but it is also surprisingly quiet. Its way cheaper and you dont have to do a thing yourself. Dont be stupid!!!

Oh yeah and the performance gains were surprising, I could tell right when I started driving, even on my t-25.

Are those import tuner stats for real, if i get me those mods it will take me up to 290 without turbo upgrade. i know i can parts cheaper than that from the vendors but i mean 100 horses just from freeing air and exhaust. not to forget the cheap fuel cut thingy.

Im pretty sure a full catback and downpipe will not jeopodize your cars safety:thumb: and 54whp and 36lbs. of torque to a slightly moded dsm is to me not quite that bad of an investment!:rocks: apex-i =quality metals, rust free and warranteed so not abad investment at all.

Did you even look at the link??? If not maybe you should. Buying a fuel cut defender and and 255lph fuel pump and just turning up the boost is not exactly the best and smartest thing to do to your car. I think i'll stick with the 180 dollar exhaust that can hold upwards of 600hp and last 15 years without rusting through. If you wanna go with the 500-650 dollar set-up be my guest.
Ha, and the quality of metal will have nothing to do with your gains, a custom 3-inch will be exactly that and probably more gains. It wont go from 2.5-3 like the apexi.

Wow 15 years ago damn your a vet LOL times have changed and now companys make high quality parts for not alot of money and you dont have to make your own parts any more!!! And did you even bother reading the post??? Its about the APEX-I N1 exhaust and down pipe!!!! And I'd rather have high quality piping that wont rust causing exhaust leaks "QUALITY". All I no is I'm not talking out of my:beatentodeath: because i have dyno proof from a dependable major source! and By the way slightly turning up the boost with an upgraded fuel pump in moderation is o.k all day!!! to many years out of school bro!:tease: Side mount and stock injectors can handle a couple more pounds. Stick around the forums a bit longer before you start talking like a mod. Trust me they don't like n00bs acting like no it alls! But hey have fun with your custom made pipes and "MAGNAFLOW" muffler.:barf: Id rather have diamonds then plastic! :dsm:

So what your saying is a custom 3 inch that will rust through well after your done with your dsm is not going to put out as much power then an apexi because it has better quality metal? You sound like your talking out a pretty big ass to me. I never said turning up the boost a little is a big deal but when your hitting fuel cut it might be telling you something. Better safe then sorry.

It will put at more power because of the simple fact that there will be absolutely no restrictions at all. You must be a pretty big ass to waste all that money on what you call quality. Quality in the name maybe. Thats all it is, a brand name.

No... let me break it down for you, im saying id rather buy quality, and be done with it and not have to worry about anything rotting, or even nasty sounding or ugly looking coffee can type exhaust. But hey people like you in there late fourty's, im assuming, might not care about stuff like that? What ever tickles your pickle right?

Ill say it for myself and save any other reader the typing!

Rs-r Gs-t FTW!!!! :thumb:

:dsm:

Just tell me though, Is my exhaust going to fail on me in the next 15 years? I want to know what you think. My stock exhaust I just replaced was on for 11 years and had no sign of rusting through, but this metal will? Im confused on your logic that more expensive is better. I would bet money my system sounds better then yours.

Yeah if you like loud fart can I have an rs-r known for being very quite! All you hear air shooting out, spool and blow off. But yeah im sure your mustang muffler tip sounds great! Have a good day sir! I gotta go party:cool:

BOTH you Noobs are going to get this thread deleted. As long as the metal is stainless steel then it will not rust. In fact the metal that is on the Apexi N1 Catback is not stainless at all so, if you searched, you would find out that over time the Apexi N1 could rust. The MUFFLER on the N1 will not rust because it is Stainless Steel but the actual piping could. My car hasn't seen rain since I got it so I have no signs of rusting at all.

Basically it comes down to the owners wallet:
- If you got some money to spend, want a warranty of some kind, knowing that the exhaust that you are going to get is top of the line and going to fit perfectly, and can easily be installed in your own garage then get the N1

- If you are on a tight budget get an exhaust system built by an exhaust shop. But, from my knowledge I don't think it comes with any warranty, you have to have some one build one for you (unless you have the tools), and IMO I think it is a half ass way to do things. But that is just my opion.

Thank you for your wisdom mr. stock turbo sidemount boy!!!! I have a fmic for sale if your thinking about stepping it up a notch and making your car fast one day???

No rust with the Apexi? Right... :toobad: The Apexi N1 is made out of aluminized steel therefore it does infact rust.

None-the-less, I would recommend the Apexi N1 to anybody in the market for a new exhaust. I have it along with the RRE downpipe and I love it. Great sound and performance! Not too expensive either... I got my Apexi N1 cat-back exhaust for $315 shipped on ebay! :rocks:

I agree 100% with kmoore. Both of you guys should be happy that you like how your exhaust sounds, performs, and looks. Why do you feel the need to say one way is better then the other? Custom might be perfict for one person, and a system like the Apexi N1 my be perfict for another.

The origional post was --I wanted to know what everyone thinks of the apexi exhaust system from the full n1 down pipe to the complete catback exhaust if you have please let me know if it good very interested about gettin one for my 1g gsx.--not is your exhaust better than his.

I dont see how a custom exhaust is half-assed, but I gues if you need a name brand to feel comfortable then thats what you need.

Quality may be a little better but, if your looking for performance the custom will give you a hp or 2 better from less restrictions. Just my opinoin.

A little cocky aren't we? :toobad: Why don't you do a little reading and educate yourself instead of trying to cover up your mistake by knocking on kmoore's car.

Like I said, the Apexi N1 can and does rust

Thank you. That is what I was trying to get at. I am trying to help the OP out with HIS question. And RS-R, man in no way are you in any position to be bashing my car, when for one you don't have your facts straight and two you obviously are giving the OP WRONG information which is worse than giving any information at all. And don't you have a party to get to?
