Apexi HKS exhaust??

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

No, they won't be the same. Apexi and HKS are pricey but worth it, the eBay stuff will be cheaper, less quality and will be more prone to fitting worse. I prefer Apexi over HKS when it comes to exhaust.
Another measurable that is hard to consider when buying something new is longevity. I've had my Apexi since 2003, it's good stuff.

First off,
Not trying to thread jack.
2gdanny, I have really been debating on the Apexi or the Thermal R&D, Does the Thermal pop at all when you let off the throttle? Is it a really loud exhaust or is it somewhat decent? Also does the end angle up and to the drivers side?

Thanks, Jayson

I have a 3in tbe from Megan Racing and i love it no problems with fit or finish. I have also heard good things about the apexi exhaust systems and know a couple people that have them if it was up to me though. I would say megan Racing is the way to go.

From experiance to me they are all good, it depends what ## looking for.
I just think the Megan and the apexi don't have the sound I was looking for, to me it sounde like to soft.
The hks, and the thermal almost sound a like, you guys can search for a YouTube video with dsm's with them exhaust's.
The thermal sounds realy rough, and that's what I was looking for.
And the thermal does sit side ways on the tip, as for poping when on the throtle my does at least, last year on a 16g with dsm link and exhaust at 20psi I was shooting flames LOL.
My opinion any of them wil be good it's all about how much money your trying to spend and what your looking for, I give :thumb: to the hks or thermal r&d.

Cost is no restriction.
When you say soft, you mean not loud enough? I am not looking for a super loud system, I want one that is a complete 3in from front to tip, has a decent semi aggressive sound, if possible angle up and too the driver side.
All comments and suggestions are welcome.

then just run down pipe, or get a custom one made thats just 3inch straight through. if you go with a name brand one then its probably going to have 2 resonators on it which is used to tone down the exhaust so it can be 50 state legal.

I see I'm the only one here that prefers the Tsudo system off ebay. It's not that the Apex'i, HKS, Megan, etc aren't slightly better quality, but I in know way think they are worth double the money or more. My ebay purchased Tsudo n1 fit perfectly and sounds great with my 3" downpipe. I would recommend it again and again. The only real difference between the more expensive systems and the one that I own is the grade of stainless steel used. From everything I have experienced first hand and heard from others, the T-304 that the Tsudo is made of is good enough to not have problems with rust.

That's pretty much what I'm going for like stated in the post before.
I'm not looking for an obnoxiously loud exhaust, just something that will supplement my future mods and not be restrictive. Thanks for the opinion.

I made some 4" exhaust with an Aero Turbine muffler on it that is as straight as possible on my 2g, it sounds awesome. It is pretty loud, but it still has a great tone to it. SmallTown, if you want some loud exhaust, just have an exhaust shop make you some 3-4" straight pipe exhaust with an Aero muffler, you will love it.

Exactly the opposite my friend, Looking for a quieter exhaust.
Steve-Thanks for posting those pics.
Like the way it looks, but not so sure about the way it sounds after this other vid I watched on youtube.

Thanks, Jayson

CF- You just picked up the full apexi N1 for the GS-X?

I too have a Tsudo N1 exhaust, it fit perfectly with my APEXi N1 downpipe. I love the sound and the fitment quality was excellent. I have had this catback exhaust on my daily driver for 3 years now and the system has shown no signs as rust on the welds. Even though the Tsudo is sort of an off brand compared to HKS and T&D, it is still a very good exhaust system.

I also bought an ebay catback exhaust and it sounds deep and smooth and i have had for like 3 years no rust I think is not worth spendin $600 on a catback system just to gain 10-15hp when you can spend under $300 for something similar in gains when you can save the rest gor other mods, yes It would be nice to have a namebrand exhaust but for the money its not worth it

I would have to say that Apexi N1 is a very good exhaust system. I have it on my 98 Eclipse N/A and it sounds pretty nasty to be honest. It puts a smile on my face every time I start it and even more so when its a cold start.
