I went through the first 50 pages of 2G DSMs in the gallery and really didn't find much. I'm lookin for images of those with large front mounts on their 95-96 model year, but am more looking for any advice on installing these on our model years. It just seems that something will need done with the bumper to accomodate. I'm not there yet but wanted to start thinking about it, I am currently in the process of installing a new engine and once i do the enxt step is to install my T28, FMIC, fuel system upg and DSMlink.

thanks all

You will likely need to cut away at the bumper to make it fit. Cut and fit, cut and fit. Sometimes you need to refab the brace as well.

Well, I didnt' put the bumper core back in mine at all, just the cover. I didn't have to cut much at all. even kept those veriticle pieces of the bumper cover in (the foglight holes).

You should cut that support brace under the hood latch, and the 2 lower parts of the "W" shaped piece that bolts to the cover, and push the FMIC back as much as possible. You'll need to replace the support brace you cut out with a flat piece of metal, so that your hood will close/latch.

I wish I had taken pics, but I just used some 1/16th alluminum angle, flattened where it connects to the hood latch and lower frame, and bolted it in. the "L" shape gives it strenght, but it's flush with the lower frame, unlike the stock piece. You'll know what I'm saying when you get it all apart. Maybe I'll try to draw a picture later.

I did mine on my 95tsi. I used a 3" thick FMIC of ebay. I had to cut some of the support bar. and had to trim the cover as well. NO pic yet. Also had to get rid of the fog lights as well.

does any one have alist of FMIC's that you can keep the fog lights?
