Just wondering....I dont really like my act 2600....its making some noises. Im thinking about upgrading soon to the Exedy clutch. Like a hyper single or something of that nature.

So no one else uses exedy??? Whats the best clutch for the money besided ACT and centerforce?

I don't think Exedy makes a hyper-single for 1g or 2g cars, just 3g.
If I'm correct that would mean your Exedy options are limited to the Exedy OEM replacement (stock), Exedy Organic racing clutch (only 26% stronger that stock), or the cerametallic 3-puck (82% stronger than stock). RRE and at least one person on this board has had bad experiences with the cerametallic, and even some people who like it admit it's difficult to drive in traffic. When it heats up, it grips better, which is good for repeated launching, but awful for stop-and-go traffic. You can unintenatially heat it up, and then have to rev to 3000 just to keep from stalling when you start moving, which of course heats it up more, it grips even faster, and the cycle continues. That's strictly heresay though, I have yet to personally drive one. People are scared of it after RRE saying they were not satisfied with it.
Exedy is still selling lots of the things though, so people must be buying them and presumably some people must like them. I'd probably give it a try if it were a little cheaper just to be different and see if it's really as good or as bad as some people claim.

The best clutches imo are the ACT and RPS clutches. I recommend them to my customers and run them in our race cars as well.

Great clutches.

i just got the cerametallic clutch and so far i like it a lot. Its brand new sooo i havent launched yet but the "heating up cycle" isnt as bad as it seams. It makes some noises sometimes but other than that its great. :thumb: the clutch grabs soo hard sifting into second (when i am racing) that the windshield wipers go off LOL.

The cerametallic is equivalent to middle of the road between a ACT 2100 and a Centerforce. If anyone wants a Exedy, we have them now for 20% off, in addition to the 10% off on our ACT.

I have a stock replacment exedy clutch with about 4,000 miles on it. It holds great, and is very grabby, I've got about 5 launches on it and it works as it should. I get no odd noises nothing. :thumb: Got it on ebay for $115 shipped

I have had the 3 puck in my car for about 2 years and have put about 12 thousand miles on it.. I have not abused it but it chatters like crazy. Once it heats up when you are in city traffic you get frustrated with it real fast cause it makes it alot harder to drive. I am changing my clutch this weekend. I have decided to go with a street disc act 2600. Trying to make the car a little more fun to drive daily. But I will say it works good on the track..
