I just moved here from idaho where there is no such thing as a road course. I was talking to a customer of mine who used to own a C5-R and he ran it at 2nd creek a couple years back.
Just wondering if anyone has been there I know its aobut 50-60 bucks for the day. Anyone want to go out there and tear it up? I race shifter karts and have never driven a big car at a road course, the are always slower than my kart so never wanted too.
But I should have my wheels and RE070's on in a month. I think that tearing up the new GSX would be blast.

Ludachris I know your a track guy when do you want to go?

also anyone ever check this out?

seems they have a Rally course? 20 bucks all day sounds too good to be true!

Thats shitty, I found some pictures of it on google and it looks really fun. Oh well guess I will have to make the drive south.

Chris has been out to PMI a few times and should be able to give you some insight on it. We will be going out there this summer as soon as we get the upgrades to the Talon.

Hey Josh, you sound just like me when I got out here. Here's the low-down on the track situation out here: it's starting to suck. There were 5 road courses in CO when I moved here last year. There are now only 2, Pueblo and La Junta. There are plans for a new track to be built to replace Second Creek, but so far, the project planners seem too dead set on trying to get it built too close to the metro area which is causing delays and it's getting political.

I've only been out to Pueblo a few times so far and it's a fun track. I never did make it out to SC before it closed so I can't compare the two tracks. From what I hear SC was a more technical track where Pueblo is a bit faster. Pueblo track rental is $60 for a half day (4 hours) and $100 for a full day (8 hours). This only applies when there is no organization renting the track, which means weekdays are the only available time right now. Last time I was out there though, there were only 4 cars on the track all day, including my friend's car and mine.

I'm trying to get the car put back together in time for a La Junta track day this weekend (a NASA Rocky Mountain event - http://www.nasarockymountain.com). It's a 2.5 hour drive, but I'm a track junkie - anything under 3 hours away works for me. I'm working to help NASA get started out here so we can have some good road race series in CO for the grass roots enthusiast. It's actually starting to pick up fast.

Let me know when you're ready to come out and drive with us. We could use another road course DSMer. It seems everyone out here is hung up on going fast in a straight line. I'm hoping we'll get a few more people who catch the road racing bug.

Are you going Sunday? Thats my day off maybe Ill shoot down there. I have had the road racing bug since a I was little. I race shifter karts and a few years ago before life got in the way I nationally ranked in SKUSA. The track there are building north is it with the people that run the Denver Grand Prix? I was talking to those guys at the "Track" and they are saying 2-3 years for thier road course, they want something close to Miller motorsports park, that would be so bad ass.

Have you ever been up to CORE to do the rally cross?

I lurk over at http://specialstage.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=27

check this one out "PICS"

Hopefully Ill see you around,

Hey Josh, haven't done the rally cross - my car is basically set up for road courses. But that would be fun.

I was down at La Junta all weekend. The car ran great with the new intake manifold but I need to get the throttle cable to work a little better - it got stuck open a few times. And my brake pads are toast... but damn was it fun.

Yeah, the new track is being planned by several groups, all of which have different wants. It's supposed to be funded by the Sutton Financial group - the Grand Prix supporters. I actually talked with a few guys down at La Junta and was told it's looking good. But it's at least two years off I'm sure. I can hardly wait. I doubt it will be to the level of Miller, as that track was built to host world class events. I think they spent a couple hundred million on it. This would be more of a club track, much less expensive. Either way it's going to be very nice I'm sure.

So the next NASA event is at Pueblo on July 23rd - a Sunday. I'm hoping to have my brakes and new tires/wheels on, along with a new radiator. We'll see how it goes. Hope to see you out there.
