If I removed my balance shafts and did the 1.8 powerless steering swap, would the difference even be noticeable if I'm running a practically stock NT?

Also, can I just replace the intake cam w/ a better one(turbo) without changing anything else?

Just curious, thanks.

Though I've never done this, nor even have an N/T anymore, I don't see this having any signifcant increase, especially on an N/T. Perhaps more light could be shed on this.

I see you are talking of replacing the intake cam. Why not replace the exhaust cam also while you're in there?

Well, I really didn't think replacing the exhaust cam would make much difference, but if a couple people say it does, then I just might go find myself a thrashed turbo head and take the cams out of it.

And can I switch the cams without any tuning or anything?

Not sure about the cams but you wont see much of anything with a balance shaft removal. Just a little more vibration during idle:)

WTF tune what????
Alot of 1g nt cars switch to the turbo cams, some clam a good gain out of it. I would switch both cams though, its really no more trouble than just 1. And yes you can drop the cams in and thats it. THe ecu will take care of the rest.( the extra air coming in) Good luck
