Are there any factory mitsu dealers who are on our side and give us a break on the high prices from the factory?

I ask because on the rx7club forums, there are a few dealers (or at least guys working there) who give a discount on parts to members.... do we have anything like that going on in the DSM land?

i've looked there already and i didn't find anything close to a dealership.. but thanks! :)

perhaps i wasn't real clear on what i'm looking for. i'm looking for a dealership in our club, as they often give us breaks on prices or group buy in's, etc. i'm looking for something like that.

I know what you are talking about, we have a dealership on a local DSM board that does that.

I think it is hard for big forums like this to do because then the dealership has to deal with shipping all over the country because everyone will want the discount.

I dont know what you were looking at, but I saw San Rafael Mitsubishi when the page opened up. Check the link again and it is the first one under S.

Rockville Mitsubishi in Maryland (301-340-3100) is the place all that good stuff. I could be a little biased because I worked there but seriously that's a real good group of guys down in parts. I'm in NY right now and anything I need I still get shipped from them. They're good like that and the guy at the local dealership was stumped when I told him I had a DSM. Back on topic though, Rockville Mitsu will give you a discount for being a Club DSM member (you need to own a dsm :) ) and have alot of parts in stock. Give them a shout.

Wasn't he part of Concelli(spelling) Mits back in the day? Well anyways like they above said JNZ sells oem at a great price. I have dealt with Erik numerous times and has always been A+ service.

If you don't want to hassle with shipping and waiting try your local Mitsu dealer. Mark Mitsu here in AZ gives the local DSM guys the same discount that all these online stores give. The big difference is that most of the time I can just walk in and get a part go hoem and install it. If they don't have it in stock they have it in no more than 2 days.

But anothe rproblem with buying parts at a local dealership is getting hit up with tax, if you buy stuff out of a foreign state dealership the shipping costs make up for way more than the tax, plus all u do is sit on your ass, save moeny over going to the dealer and not having to make the trip, and the parts show up at your house via a brown truck.

It really all depends on what you are buying. If I need a few bolts and can drive 10 minutes to pick them up I would rather do that and pay maybe 1.00 in sales tax as opposed to waiting a few days, longer on weekend when most people work on cars, and pay perhaps 10.00 in shipping. Typically if the parts are not very expensive tax will be less than shipping. Plus I don't know any place that can have a part to me in 2 days and not charge me more for overnight. This is becasue I am in AZ and Mitsu is in SoCal so YMMV

True, I was thinking more along the lines of big parts, like oil/water pump and cases and stuff, thats when the tax is not so fun. But as always, we end up paying more for convenience. :talon:

i completely agree with both cases.
those weekend-projects are the more costly ones i've learned. this time i'm buying everything new and up front before even building the motor.
