Considering what I'm paying for my rebuilt Shep transmission $350 is pretty good.

I was the one who pulled the tranny out of that car. I needed the motor. It has a new torque converter, and look to be in grate shape the motor worked out great. The guy is a dick and paid way to much for the car at a auction. But that tranny should work out for you. If you do get the tranny grab all the motor and tranny mounts for me if you can.

How many mounts should there be total?

But I've been looking for months, thank god I got my tax return because I wouldn't have made it this far.

I've researched it but it's still a tossup between doing a complete engine swap (which would be time consuming but fun!)
Or sell mine, and buy a gsx/gs-t (awd isn't a must for me, though I know I would love it)

Suggestions? Because I really am on the fence about this one

When I first got into DSM's I didn't know a damn thing about cars, let alone how a turbo works. I wanted to turbo my 420a DSM and was pricing around trying to figure out how much it was going to cost me to do it, problem was I would have had to pay for labor too. Since it wasn't very cost effective I decided to keep my '97 GS stock and get a GS-T to play with and learn as I went.

What I'm trying to say is, if you don't know a whole lot about cars/engines/turbos in the first place I suggest starting on a already turbo platform like a GS-T/GSX.

But I'm leaning towards buying one. That way I know it would be starting with a solid foundation, and i could spend my time improving it, opposed to all my time just getting it running again (if I did a swap)
