yes ive searched, and nothing really fits my problem, so im lookin for more help. last week, after finally finishing my tranny swap, and my complete exhaust, i decide to drive my car to see how everything works out. drive the car all day, ran awesome, was finally satisfied with it. parked it my driveway overnight, went to drive it the next day, and wouldnt start. just rolled over and over. so i figured i flooded it, let it sit for the day, til i got home from work. tried to start it again and the same happened. so i pulled the plugs and they were wet. i dried em off, turned it over without the plugs in to dry it out. i put the plugs back in, disconnected all 4 injector plugs, and burned out what was left in the motor. it tried to start, so i know i have spark. figuring i had fixed the problem, i hooked the injectors back up and tried to start it, and it flooded again. now what could cause this frustration? and is the fpr on the feed or return side of the fuel rail? just curious if it could be a fpr problem. i sure hope someone can help me. thanks guys and sorry for the novel.

I think your ECU just took a dump. This is EXACTLY what my car did. We had a few guys on here having similar issues all around the same time. I dropped in a jdm ecu I got with my motor just for whatever reason, fired right up and had no problems. After a while if it doesnt do anything at all but turn over then I am sure this is it. Try to find a local buddy with one you can test out and see if she fires up or not. Check the caps as well. I had mine replaced as they did not appear to be leaking so Im thinking my issue came from another part of the ecu board.

It could be the ECU but doesn't have to be. Instead of guessing, I would do the spark test on each of wires to make sure they are all firing first.

cool, at least im gettin an idea of possibilities. i dont wanna start replacing stuff that doesnt need to be, ya kno. hope to hear more ideas and suggestions, thanks.

so luckily i have a 5 speed, and smartly i decided to try to push start it. yay, it started. but my throttle response sucks, it stumbles alot at idle, and the idle is not even close to where it use to be (550-600). i notice that a clicking sound comes from my injectors, that i never heard before. once it dies, or i turn it off, it wont start unless i push start it again. it does run pretty well once it gets up to operating temperature, but still the idle falls near stall then raises to 550-600 when in neutral. this is so frustrating. im putting money into bolt-ons that are supposed to help my car run better, but its just making it run worse. i love this car, and i really want this to work for me, but i dont want to start dumping hundreds into the electrical system, seeing that it could be a number of things. theres sensors as many of you know, that arent wallet friendly. ill keep checking and reading other posts in hope for a cure. id really like to have this running top-notch before summer. someone please help. if all else fails i suppose i can take it to a shop to have it diagnosed. grrrrrr. :thumbdown

if your injectors are wet, then you have a fuel problem, not spark. Spark isnt your problem. your plugs shouldnt be saturated in fuel. it most likely is the ECU, (especially with the problems you described after you push started it)

If you really get curious, take out the injecors (they come off with the entire fuel rail) and crank on your car, and watch how much fuel comes out. my guess is that all four of them will be spitting WAY too much fuel out. And thats why your car runs like crap, is its running WAY to rich. I cant imagine it being anything else, unless maybe your fuel pump is somehow malfunctioning? But i dont think that would do it. Just snag yourself an ecu, and see what happens afterwards. Also, when your trying to start your car, DONT give it gas. (just makin sure your not one of those guys who pumps his throttle when trying to start a fuel INJECTED motor. Thats for carb cars.)

so yea my car started fine this morning and ran fairly well all day besides the poor low rpm throttle response. pulled my ecu to check for leaking caps, and all looks good. i used to work as an audio/video installer, so ive definately seen bad caps on amps. im just not willing to trust this car quite yet. i may just spend the cash to have it diagnosed at a shop. thanks for the info. it just sucks that im spending money into bolt-ons to make it run better, and its running slower/worse then the day i bought it. oh well, u win some, u lose some. ill conquer this beast before i let it get the best of me. hahaha!
