Fixable??

I know this is a VERY vague question but it pushed in the back light assembly enough to where I can't open the hatch... It's pretty significant but has barely affected the rear quarter panels... maybe hit the very tips barely.

It definitely only looks cosmetic and nothing too bad at that. Im sure you can find a junk yard round there or someone near you that is parting out a car to pull the rear hatch off of.

Hey man, i was born and raised in longmont, and will be moving back there soon. But it doesnt look totalled, it definitely looks fixable. Good luck.

Nice, there are a couple of us here. I hang out with a GVR4 gentleman but other than that. Thats all i've found. I've seen a green gvr4 drive around but he wasn't interested when I yelled at him through my window when he was on his cell phone LOL. Cars are priority. Hang up the phone LOL!

Well to be honest the license plate is pushed in quite a bit. It's about 3 inches in.... The hatch doesn't look affected. So I dont think it is pushed in far enough to :adjust: the hatch.

Well i guess it all depends on how good you are with a welder then or if you know anyone that is good. Otherwise it could get spendy to take that into some place and have that all fixed.

Yes.

I assume if you are asking, then you cant fix it yourself. So.... why bother asking us? Just take it to a body shop. It can certainly be fixed, the only question is, how much is it gonna cost.

You know it CAN be fixed. Much worse is fixed everyday. Needs new lights, bumper and some pulling/welding.

See I dont know if its fixable. I'm not someone to determine that sort of thing. What I am capable of is finding out HOW to fix it. I'll teach myself. Just like I taught myself how to build my computer, how to solder in new capacitors on the monitor that i'm writing this on and how to build an engine the right way.
I may not know if something is fixable but I know where to find out. Thats why I asked you guys. I've never been in anything more than a fender bender. I didn't wreck this car and I certainly have never fixed anything this substantial. Good call on the lights and bumper. :applause:
I may just weld in a new section. Just not sure how stout these ass ends are. I'll probably be bringing down the car on Wednesday to take a closer look.

you wont know how bad it is untill you remove the bumber cover lights and inside trim. it truly doesnt look bad.

Thats what i'm afraid of Rims.... it looks good because this is the picture the guy who sold it to me took. I've seen it in person and its a little worse... but not much. A little bit worse.

Derekvr4 I think. I dont talk to him much online. Hell I dont even remember his number. I think its like 699. I forget, his hasn't been running. He's doing a bunch of shit to it. We hang out every now n then. None of us have running dsm's as of now so its a little difficult.

Definitely fixable. Might need a little pulling in some areas, although considering where it took most of the hit you might even be good with just hammering from the back. Definitely take the lights out and bumper off though and take some more pictures. That's the only way to tell for sure what the damage is.

i would fix it if it was mine. hey i got a awesome place for dsm parts off of santafe in denver, there is a whole group of like atleast 10 junk yards within a few square miles. also see a lot of dsm parting outs on craigslist for the denver area.. Good luck...

You will need to verify that the rear bumper was not pushed into the unibody. If it was a trip to the frame straightener is in order, but if you get lucky I believe that this is an easy fix.

I just junked a 92 talon 2 days ago and im close to you......

To bad.

Its fixable I fix worse cars then that everyday. Even if lights are pushed in its not as bad as a frame rail.

My 91 im building now had similiar damage and about 4 hours later you couldnt even tell.

But there are so many DSM's out there for cheap is it honestly worth fixing.

HOW MUCH WAS THE CAR/ Title status?

The car is pretty clean everywhere else... i'd say it IS worth it... i'll see after I take the bumper off. I did get more pictures today...
I got both cars side by side for 300. I drove the one we're talking about home tonight and I think i toasted a wheel bearing. Right as we got off on our exit... I felt it. Right front. Glad it made it. 75 miles untested with a new waterpump

Also, Anyone know how much 'pulling' costs? Per hour? Per pull? Something I can do with a winch and a stable spot???

Wow all that interested an now nothing?
