I've never tried to use AN fittings before. I'm not totally sure it the best method for my application either or something else should be used. I want to replace the lines from my oil coiler(stock 1G style) because they have become cracked and I'm not putting stock in them holding up for my new motor coming.

I was checking out this site for the parts. http://www.sweetperformance.com/cart/index.php?cPath=1

I was unsure of what size line to go with. Is -4 large enough? Or is it gauged like wire and that would be the largest size? Also how do you go from end fittings to actually tapping it into the oil cooler and the filter housing? Does anyone happen to know the bolt sizes too.

Thanks for any insight. :thumb:

As a general rule of thumb when deciding which size AN line to use for any application, each AN increment is worth approximately 1/16". So -4An would be 4/16th or 1/4" in inner diameter. I don't know off hand what size the stock lines are so I can't help you select a size, but you definitely what to keep it as close to the original size as possible and err on the larger side rather than smaller.

No, it's completely opposite from wire gauging. In AN fittings, the larger the number, the larger the size. 4AN is tiny. You will want to use probably a 10AN. I've never done what you are doing before, so I cant help you with specific fittings and thread sizes. But I do know a guy that might be able to shead some light on your project. His user name on here is GOTNOS. I sold him a bunch of 10AN stuff - He turbo'd his 420a and he used all stainless braided line with AN fitting on his oil cooler. He should be able to answer your specific questions.

Here's his profile.
