am I retarded? (driveshaft question)

In the process of trying to detatch/ reattach the xcase yoke to the driveshaft, I'm having issues on how to rotate the driveshaft so I can get access to all the bearing caps. According to a thread I found on how to replace u joints, it claims I can just rotate the shaft by hand. The car is in nuetral, front wheels up. Also, it's a/t if that means anything.

Haha it gets better. After wrestling with the car for five hours, and being slightly delusional at that point, as I lowered the car one corner at a time , I forgot there was no ebrake on, and she started to roll down the hill! Had to jump through the window and pull the brake, Duke boys style.

You would be lucky to have time to move! I had my camaro up on a jack, my buddy came over and leaned on the car causing it to fall off the jack, there was absolutely no time to move! If I was under it, I would had been an assphaultpancake! 4 Jack stands that hold 2 tons each are gold!

Think being crushed, drowning, or burned alive would be the crappiest way to go!

Oh it was on four stands. I wouldn't gamble with that, especially since I have no garage and there are literally no flat surfaces around where I live. She started to roll when I removed the last stand. seriously, I had a buddy nearly crushed to death stuck under a miata (don't ask) for four hours until his gf found him.

4 good jackstands. Preferably 8. Cause A) Its a dsm, you're gonna have it on stands a LOT and B) You need 8 cause you've got one dsm sitting right next to it that you're ripping apart too haha.

I know while removing the trans I was laying under it and the jack I had only had the small circular thing on it and the trans got stuck and I moved my hands away for a sec and it creaked. Thank god I'm not weak and have fast reflexes. Lol . Nearly died I'm sure. Never. Ever. Will I be doing a removal by myself.....unless I have proper equipment.

A good Jack and 4 Jackstands is the way to go. I learned that a long time ago. Stupid things like that happened to all of us and if you say it hasn't, then you either have a lift or lying. Haha. Hell there were times I didn't trust where I put the Jackstand and had a Jack under the car as a backup.
