When i start my car in the morning i get this high pitch squeak sounds like its my belt. It stays there until i start driving then it will stop. But recently its there all the time no matter how long i am driving its very loud and annoying. While i was driving it got very loud and my lights dimed in my car even my headlights my sms light turned on and when i am at a stop my battery light comes on and it feels like my power steering goes out until i get on the gas again. PLEASE HELP!

I would check your belt and make sure there on right and tight.
Check the belts for any damage as well.
If theres smoke coming in that area as well it could be a bearing in the alternator.
Which means you'll have to replace it.

Id really make sure its not the belts first before shelling out 100-150 bucks on an Alt.

But to me it sounds like your alternator isnt working properly so your car is running off the battery alone, which causes your battery to get low.

Jus Go up to autozone and get a check on your alternator, theres a start.

I'm not 100% sure on the spyder package, but on the 2.0 turbos, there was a belt difference between the 1995-1998s and the 1999s. Check the alt pulley bearing.

The 99s alt belt is half an inch shorter than the 95-98 belt.

From my experience the alt belt squealing is a common issue on our cars.

My 1.8L was really bad about it and my 92 awd is starting to do it too.

Every time it has just needed to be tightened.
It's very common for people to think it's tight when it could still be tightened more.
Just try tightening the belt a bunch and I wouldn't be surprised if it goes away.

Tighten it first. Like Trigger said, you don't wanna go and spend all that money on an Alternator unless you need to. This is a very common problem with our cars. With my Eclipse, my belt would squeek at startup for 30 seconds or so. Then when I get to a stop sign or something and have my heater on high with my lights on, it will squeek. Then I turn off my lights and heater and it goes away. I don't get it either. Try tightening it first. Worked for me for a few days, then it came back. You should be able to go to Advance and have them test your Alternator without pulling it off. Give that a shot too.

With a voltmeter put the red side on the 10mm nut on the back of the alternator and the other side on ground put the voltmeter on dc and you can check if it is charging. It's a little easier than pulling it off.

I went down to auto zone and had them text it yeah it was bad so i did replace it and the noise is gone and it runs great thanks for the feedback :)

Just check and make sure you have it as tight as you can.
our belts like to seem like they're tight when they're really not.
It may not squeal now but it won't take long for you to start having a little screech here and there and it'll get progessively worse.
